EPO Collaborates with the British Council and the Goethe-Institut on Language Training

EPO signed agreements with the British Council and the Goethe-Institut to enrich the use of EPO’s official languages in those countries whose official languages are other than French, German, and English.

These institutes  will provide training on German and English language, to staff of national patent offices, European qualifying examination candidates and patent judges in  member states. 

EPO President Benoît Battistelli stated that "The new language training scheme is essential for promoting the use of the three languages, which will also be the official languages of the future unitary patent system,".

It is expected that EPO will sign alke agreement with the Institut Français in April.
